I am a largely self-taught photographer born and bred in Yorkshire but now based in Manchester in the North West of England with a particularly keen interest in nature, wildlife, architectural and landscape photography.

I began my photographic journey using a Zenit E camera in the 1970s then progressed to an Olympus OM10 (with Data back) in the late 1980s. With the introduction of digital SLR cameras my interest in photography has grown considerably over the last 15 years and has now become my true passion. In March 2020 I dipped my toe into the world of mirrorless full-frame cameras.

Without realising it, I am always looking at the world around me with a 'photographer's eye'.

My photographic experience is largely self-taught supplemented with additional specific photographic workshops.

Although all digital images have to be processed to some extent to make them usable, I shoot in RAW format, and keep manipulation to an absolute minimum and present the image in the way I remember seeing it. I firmly believe that it is better to get the image right 'in camera' and then do as little as possible to it on the computer.

I hope you enjoy viewing the images on my website as much as I did photographing them.
